Bosnian Bruce Lee

I think this was talked about on someone's blog around here somewhere, but the Brue Lee statue of unity have indeed been unveiled in Bosnia.

It's a weird idea but I sort of like it.

Too bad someone stole his Nunchucks.

See this blog is more then just stoop photos...

Massive changes on the stoop!

So here we see last night's Stoop changes! Man everything is wacky with the Toronto Weather lately.

And this is what is going on this morning, it's 11 fricken degrees here, and most of the snow is gonzo. Maybe I should go for a jog?

The Stoop

Ahhh the old stoop as day fades into night, and as week turns into weekend.

Another evening photos

Here is what the front stoop looked like last night. Seems we really didn't get that storm, a little bit or snow and harsh cold winds (you know the ones that make it difficult to breathe when you walk into them, you know your breath gets caught int your throat) but no real storm.

I hope you like the stoop series, I see no signs of it abating.

And this is what it looks like this morning

So like the title says, this is what the outside of our place looked like this moring.

I really like the way that the snow close to the camera looks in this picture.

Winter in Toronto

So winter finally hit Toronto last night, they kept talking about some sort of a storm that was coming our way but it didn't really hit, at least not yet.

They are calling for snow for the next two or three days, so who knows we may get more.

In a way I think it's about time, but in a weird way it feels too soon since like two weeks ago it was 16 degrees.

Either way the toque is now out when I go rent movies.

Matt and his fainting goats

Hello all, got an e-mail from Matt the other day, he was passing on a link, so I thought I'd pass it on to you.

It takes a while to load up but once it does it's quite interesting, you have to wonder how these goats ever survived in the wild...?

Just another manic Monday

So I spent the weekend in Kingston Ontario with Rod and Laura, Danielle was unable to make the trip becuase she was hard at work. So I headed out on Friday at about 5:30, and becuase of the Friday traffice and the snow/sleet that was falling on the ground it took me four hours to get there. For the most part the roads were ok, but there were a few patches of black ice, which explains the four or five fresh accidents that I passed on the way.

The weekend was spent enjoyably eating, drinkning, playing Mario Party 6.0, and seeing Harry Potter. It was great to get away for the weekend, and I would really like to thank my gracious hosts for putting me up for the weekend.

Generally this is where I would insert a funny photo, but I forgot my camera so no photos.

So Harry Potter eh? Well I saw it and it's pretty darn good, just as good as all of the others I'd say, a bit more involved and complicated if you've never read the books (I haven't) but still enjoyable. So if you liked the three previous Harry Potter movies you are going to like this one.

Interestingly enough my favorite parts in this movie were the character interactions and not the magical stuff. It's neat becuase the kids are starting to grow up more, so now there is added sexual tension.

Well, back to work.

Well Well Well

So the Parents have headed back to the ow-so-wintery Winnipeg, just in time to catch a snow storm. There's on of the drawbacks to working at home: bad weather is just no excuse.

Anyways the week with parents was fun, they got to see Toronto the surrounds. Went out for dinner a few times (Vegan, Italian, El Salvadorian, Polish, and Korean) went to the McMichael gallery on Rememberance day, or have they re-named it to be Vetran's Day? It's been Vetrans day in the States for a while but I seem to be hearing it more and more north of the border. Maybe they are switching the focus from World War II to vetrans of all wars?

Either way we went to the McMichael gallery and it was pretty interesting, for those that don't know it's home to a large Group of Seven collection, with some First Nations thrown in for good measure. Here are some photos of the event:

50 greatest Indie films of all time

Hey check out Empire's (who?) 50 greatest Indie movies of all time.

Be sure that you see that Withnail and I, and Donnie Darko both make this list. Withnail lives large at number 18 and Donnie Darko brings it on in at number 2. Take that Danielle, Jim, and Kap. I always knew I had great taste.

Carter can...?

So, yesterday was a certain Rodney Carter's (as seen in this photo fiendishly trying to steal an $11.00 bottle of wine) birthday.

Carter, a fencer as well as a thief (ha ha get it?) has turned the ripe olde age of 22. Doctors and laymen alike are shocked that Carter, known for his gastro-intestional expulsions, has been able to withstand the presssures of the nunnery and his bowels for one more year. Some chalk this up to a freak Dutch-Oven accident, in 1993, which cost Carter his sense of smell.

Either way we wish Rodney, and all of Kingston, good luck in the coming year. Visit his blog and wish that kooky archivist a happy birthday.

Ow, yes, a certain someone also sends his regards:

Parents are in the house!

The bed and breakfest

So people my Parents are now in the Big Smoke, they arrived in Toronto on Friday afternoon. We went out to dinner that night to Fressen, which is one of Danielle's favorite restaurants, I had the roast gluten and it was fantastic. Them Saturday morning we headed out to a bed and breakfast in Niagara on the Lake.

Here are some shots of Inniskillin:

We spent the weekend going to different wineries in the area and taking in their wares, and going to a play at the Shaw festival. We saw You Never Can Tell, which was very well done.

Now I'm back in Toronto working while my parents are shopping at Ikea, so that was the weekend folks.

I'll update this later with the photos that I took.
