Happy (belated) birthday to Matt

Well to anyone who doesn't know it was Matt's birthday last Friday, yes I know it's terrible how late I often am with these birthday wishes. So if it's ever your birthday and you don't see a post on here about your borthday, it's not becuase I don't like you, it's because I'm so self-centred that I cannot remember anyones birthday except my own.

Anyways, enough with my own blither-blather, too the meat of this post: Happy birthday Matt!

Happy Birthday Fiachra!

Well today is Fiachra's birthday, so Happy Birthday Fiachra!

Fiachra was kind enough to come out with us (Danielle and her parents) and split his birthday dinner with them. So all of us would like to wish him a happy birthday.

So Fiachra, as they say in Ireland, "top'o the morning to you!"

Gnome Blog

So I'm writting this from my linux machine (running debian now) and I'm writting it from a neat little app call gnome-blog.

I mean it's not that impressive or anything and there are probably like 100 other tools out there that let you do this, but I found this one and now I'm using it.

It even lets you drag and drop images onto it, which is pretty neat. Anyways if you like using linux and have a blog this is a neat little tool to use.

I know it's not pictures of vegas or anything, but I still think that it's neat!

Note: It turns out the gnome-blog lets you drag and drop images onto it, but blogger doesn't support them. I'm guessing the movable type ot wordpress blogs probably do...anyays...also the title was messed up.

Note2: Hey that freaking edit post link actually works for me now!

Murder Mystery

Don't want to read? Just hit the Gallery.

In keeping with the shameful way that I have been updating this blog lately here is an update that is two weeks late. Yes, I know, very lame. Anyway, this update pertains to Ms. Danielle Allard's 30th Birthday.

For her 30th we went over to Matt and Natasha's and had a Murder Mystery party. You know the ones where everyone gets a charachter and acts it out, sort of like clue only in person.

It was a good time and I'd like to thank everyone for coming.

I've uploaded some photos of the event and you can view the gallery over here. Now my photos pale in comparison to what Rod and Laura were able to come up with, but I thought I'd post them anyways.

Seriously why do I look so terrible in Rods photos?

Vegas What about Vegas?

Skip ahead to the Gallery?

All right, many of you probably know by now that I was laid low by a vicious illness as soon as I returned from Vegas, I blame sin city and the deregulation of the commercial airline industry, hey airlines you used to be profitable with all those silly government health restrictions remember that? Well now I guess you are all free to go bankrupt in any way that your precious and sentient market dictates.

"Wait what? No one cares about that sort of stuff? If they wanted to hear Voltaire's Bastards quoted they'd read the book? Sheesh that's a bit harsh don't you think? Yeah, yeah all right Vegas, I'll try to tell them about Vegas. I was sick you know, fever, aches, sweats, the whole deal..."

Right, so Vegas, Danielle and I arrived in the good old We-Still-Use-Annoying-One-Dollar-Bills Of A at around 10:30pm Vegas time and finally got back to our hotel (Bally's) and up into our room by Midnight. Since our bodies felt thought that it was 3:00am Danielle wanted to go to bed, I told he that there was no way that we could possible arrive in Vegas and go to bed without having a drink, so we headed of to The Paris casino for a quick beer (Sierra Nevada) and then off to bed.

The next day was the wedding day so we spent the morning and the afternoon walking around the casinos (which we actually did everyday...) and having a few drinks.

The wedding was held at this neat little wedding chapel called The Little Church of the West. Danielle and I, known for our latness, arrived about 30 minutes early for the wedding and were able to "witness" (from the outside) the nuptuials of the happy 6:00pm couple.

Kevin and Jackies wedding was great, and I wish them all the happiness in the world. If they read this I'd like them to know that Danielle and I had a great time and were very very happy to have been invited. All the best you two!

The Wedding started promptly at 6:30pm (or there abouts) and was over before 7:00pm. If you want to watch the wedding head to the churches website, you should be able to view the webcast.

After that it was off to Mandalay Bay for a dinner at this great restaurant, whose name I totally forget. What I do remember is that the food was great and it was across from this weird bar, called The Red Square or something like that, it was a communist themed bar in Las Vegas? The had a headless statue of Lenin outside covered in fake pidgeon crap, seriously, I couldn't make this stuff up.

But the rest of the weekend was a blast hanging around with everyone from Winnipeg or hanging around just Danielle and I. Instead of detailing the weekend for you event by event, I'll just direct you to my Photo Gallery area, if you take a look at the Las Vegas gallery you should be able to piece together the events as they happened.

Oh, one of my favorites was the yard long Martinis, ahh Las Vegas, what a trip!

Happy Birthday Danielle

I know that this is way late now, but I wanted to wish Danielle a happy Birthday! My wife had her birthday on April fourth of this year, but sadly I was all sick and fevery after coming back from Vegas and really couldn't do anything (I mean sick like the flu not just tired).

We will be going out this Tuesday to celebrate her birthday so I should be fully healthy by then. Now this isn't to say that her birthday wasn't celebrated this weekend with our friends, it just means that we will be able to see the Lord of the Rings play without me passing out in my seat.

Oh yeah, and here's Danielle shopping in Vegas with a beer, cause hey....that's what you do there.
