Viva Las Vegas

Yes indeed Viva Las Vegas! As some of you may know, and as some of you may not know Danielle and I are jetting off to Las Vegas this Weekend for olde Kevin's wedding.

We've never been to Vegas before and are quite excited (I'm also frightened) at the Sodem-and-Gomorrah-esque city that awaits us.

A little known fact about Las Vegas is that its population is about 80,000 less then Winnipeg's. Although if you iclude the Las Vegas Metropolitan Area, Las Vegas wins by a cool million...

See ya Marge

So last Friday we big a fond see ya later to Marge our former upstairs neighbor.

We had some good times and last Friday was no exception. Marge is heading out to Dallas to be followed shortly by Fiachra.

What you might not know about Dallas is that it is in the United States of America in a big state called Texas. Dallas is actually the largest (geographically) city in the US. In the GaWC Inventory of World Cities, Dallas is a Gamma City, Toronto is a Beta, I don't really know what that means, but it's something all right.

You could fit about 1.5 Texas' into Ontario, but Texas has about 1.6 times as many people as Ontario does. On a side note you could fit 12.8 Ireland's into Ontario.

Dallas has a population of 1.1 million and 5.4 million if you include all of the surrounding areas.

Dallas also has two times the number of restaurants per person then New York does, which is pretty cool.

So there you are, some interesting facts about Dallas that don't involve J.R. Ewing who interestingly enough was only meant to be a supporting character on Dallas but was so popular when the show aired that he soon became the central focus of the show...

Who likes Chaucer?

It seems that everyone has a blog these days, even olde Chaucer:

Geoffrey Chaucer Hath A Blog

Courtesy of my brother.

So what is up dudes?

So what is up? Well right now there really isn't anything up with me, as you might have guessed by the content (or lack there of) on this blog. Part of it comes from the fact that I have been leaving my digital camera behind a lot of time times now, I'm not sure why but I've always been a binge or purge type of a person when it comes to taking pictures.

Which is why I usually have to force myself to take my camera and take some pictures, once I'm over the initial photo hump I'm usually pretty good (or bad) at snapping away. Lately I just haven't been bringing my camera out.

The less photos I take, the less I post on this blog, the less I post on this blog the less posts I have really. And I guess it's sort of the same with this blog, if I get inot the pattern of posting to this blog then all is well, I'm a posting machine.

But as soon as I get out of the habit of posting then all of it goes to crap, which has been happening around here lately, I just haven't been doing enough crazy stuff that I feel warrants post, or maybe I've been doing tonnes but just haven't felt like putting fingers to keys and getting it up here.

Either way I should definitely try to get more information up here, something about something, which is basically what this was.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Hey Boyyo's it's time for me to wish you a happy St. Patrick's Day, so: "Have a happy St. Patrick's Day!"

Here is what I look like these days for anyone that is concerned:

Oh he doesn't smile, he's far to 'bad' for that!

You'll also notice that I am indeed wearing green today on my pants.

BlueMan Group

So this weekend, Matt, Natasha, Danielle and I went to go the the Blue Man Group, you know those dudes from the Intel Comercials? Well if not check below for quick refresher:

It was pretty cool too, they do a lot of neat stuff, although I would have liked a few more "messy things". See we were sitting in the fourth row which is in the "poncho section," where they give you plastic ponchos in case you get wet or splattered from the stage. So in some ways I guess I was unfairly expecting a Gallagher-type extraviganza.

Now had they actually done the paint inthe condom slingshot I guess it would have done it for me, or maybe if I was hit with the weird banana-type-regurgitated-twinkies rather then just smelling them.

Also did I ever tell you guys about the time I experienced reverse cover? Man that is wild, if you're even in Toronto on a Saturday I'll tell you all about it...

The Simpsons Live Action Opening Sequence

I know this has been making the Internet rounds in the last few days, but I thought I would post it anyways. It's the Simpsons opening sequence but done by real people:

If that doesn't work then you can go and check it out here:

Do you know this man?

Seriously do you know who this man is? If you don't know that this man is Vic Mackey then it's time for you to start watching The Shield. Seriously though this is (in my humble opinion) the best cop drama that I have ever watched. Really what's the pint of watching a cop drama if the cops ain't dirty and they ain't swearing while being dirty?

If you can't find The Shield and Mr. Mackey on your TV, you should be able to find it at your local video store for rental on DVD. Danielle and I have watched the first three seasons and are now polishing off the fourth (only three more episodes to go). Which kinda sucks for us since season 5 is going on right now se we'll have to wait to see exactly what happens.

An interesting development in season 4 was the addition of Glen Close to the cast as the hard nosed former uni (uniformed officer) captain. Now I don't really know what else Glen Close had on the table, but she's doing a pretty good job on the show so far.

So for all your banger and po-po needs I suggest using The Shield as your remedy.
