English Russia

So every once in a while I see links put up about this site: englishrussia.com and so every once in a while I go and checkout said site. You might also enjoy the site, but then again you may not.

Either way here are some of my favorite posts:

An Abandoned City

It's a tired and lazy Friday and I think that I may be coming down with a cold...what's a boy to do? Especially when that boy is no longer a boy and he's all of 28 years old?

Sit back for a lazy Friday with a pair of Cats? Go to the local Bijou and check out Big Bucks, Big Pharma?

Hey, I went to a book reading with an introduction my this dude and a reading by this lady, and it was quite good. There was also free Nigerian food availalbe wich was also quite the score.

Anyways back to back too.

And up up up up up

So, no I'm not starting a new career and loving it, and no I'm not installing a grand contraption on my home, and no I didn't just get my full on license, and no I don't ride a bike down the hallway to get to work, and no the city that I live in is not about to be set ablaze by 18 year old Engineering students dyed purple...so what exactly am I supposed to blog about?

The fat sleeping cat on my lap who is putting my legs to sleep? While he is cute, this is a daily occurrence that I put up with in order to fully bask in his chubby cat love, plus I feed him so really what else is he going to do?

The Vegetarian festival that I went to on the weekend with Danielle, Annalise, and Chris?

The free Weakerthans and almost Metric concert that I saw at the U of T on Friday?

My impending one year one month wedding anniversary?

The fact that both of my cordless phones are terrible hunks of junk that deserve the dustbin?

My growing prowess on the tennis court?

The fact that I often play with a gasp sleeveless shirt? (what a knob)

The short shorts I jog in? The headband that matches said sorts? The looks I get as I blaze past people?

The fact I got a birdie golfing the other weekend and scored a 71? (Par was 54)

The fact I got a speeding ticket just south of Harbourd heading south on Ossington? And that I got it trying to pass a slow moving U-Haul truck quickly so that I didn't get stuck in the far left lane behind what appeared to be a parked car but what was actually the police officer's previous victim? The fact that I was clocked at sixty-something (I forget) in a forty zone?

Bah I have nothing to blog about, forget it.

So now I'm done

Yes I will answer all of your speeding ticket questions, just not in this post, maybe in my njext post...I actually wrote a long post detailing the ticket while I was writting my last post, then I lost it and I haven't had the desire to detail it again...but I will just for you my loyal fans.

So last Friday I completed the program detailed in this book: The Beginning Runner's Handbook: The Proven 13-Week Walk-Run Program, which is what I have been using as a guide for my running so far.

I really like this book mostly because of the 13 week program which is training to get you prepared for a 10km run. Since I had no run to do I decided to run for a while, the result is this route:

Which took me an hour and a half to run, and it's also the longer time and distance I have ever run in my entire life, so completing it feels pretty darn good.

My only problem now is that I'm done the program what do I do now? Lucklily the book has for further programs, like maintenance programs, run faster, or run farther, but I'm still not sure what I want to do. The run farther seems interesting to me, as it's preperation for training for a half marathon, which seems pretty neato to me.

Anyways that's it, that's my big news on this September long...oh and I made a Lazy Pierogie Casserole last night which isn't too lazy but lazier then making your own pierogie, which if you a faithful reader of this lovely blog, you'll remember that I made at some point during the winter...man oh man sweeet.
