Oh Snap! YouTube rescues part of my childhood

Oh YouTube:

The Winnipeg Jets, Quebec, Francophone's, and Canadiana rule

Or at least parts of them rule and this video lets you know what parts, or some of those parts, or whatever already I just think it's cool:

Or maybe they don't? Who knows? Find out more about Les Dales Hawerchuks at their official website.

With Much Love: Bob Ross

Just to make everyone feel happy:

Illegal Foods

So I saw this over at BoingBoing and thought that I just had to post a link to the original site: gridskipper . It's basically about food that is illegal to eat in the states. The thing that really freaked me out was this:

Mellified Man: Mellified Man was a manmade dish popular in ancient Arabia. According to Mary Roach, author of Stiff, men 70-80 years old, on death’s doorstep anyway, would cease to eat food, instead partaking solely of honey. Pretty soon, they would be mellified, that is, “he excretes honey (the urine and feces are entirely honey).” Soon he dies and is placed in a honey-filled coffin which is then sealed for 100 years. At the end of the 100 years, the goop is eaten up.

Seriously!

Cowabunga Dude

If you know what the title of this post is about then you should probably check out this trailer:

TMNT, now the only thing I can say about it is that at least they are pretty bad ass like the original comic books and not all lame like the movies. Well at least like some of the original comics were, I guess it depends on who was drawing them.

Reminds me of my latest childhood memory being served up by hollywood: transformers.

I mean I'll probably see these movies, but that doesn't mean that I'm happy that they're being made, but who knows maybe they'll kick ass?

Do you like Award winning Canadian Animation?

Do you like strangely capitalized titles? Well if you like animation, let say you liked NFB animations well then this is the website for you:

http://www.nfb.ca/animation/objanim/en/films/index.php

If you follow that link you can be treated to 40 (I think) Canadian Animation classics, including the much loved "The Snit".

So watch and have fun people...

The World Cup is Over

So like most of you know the world cup is over, with Italy beating France in the finals. Danielle and I watched the game in a pub Kingston with Rod and Laura. The game itself was lots of fun especially with the bizzaro Zidane headbutt, but it was also fun watching the game in a pub with a bunch of people that actually care whose going to win.

After the game we went for some ice cream and got to watch the Italian fans do their thing.

When we got back to Toronto later on that evening we took a stroll down College Street in Toronto's Little Italy (only a few blocks from our place) to see what was happening. The stree was blocked off from Bathurst to some unknown easterly street. The streets were somewhat full of people walking around, or playing soccer, or waving flags. It was pretty neat but had the feeling or a street festival that had run it's course. I'm assuming that it would have to tres crazy to be there then Italy won.

The weekend was lots of fun visiting the outdoor art exhibit on Friday (the same one we visited last year) with Fiachra, Claire, and Shooter. Then on Saturday we booked it down to Kingston to hang and eventually watch the world cup finals.

There was a bit of "Catch Phrase" that went on and I'm pleased to say that ROD and I continued our streak of kicking ass.

Selsine, still doing that Argentina thing

So more from Argentina, although still not the pictures I keep talking about but still more information.

So one of the things that we did whilst we were in Argentina was take a 12 hour bus ride from Buenos Aires to Mendoza the heart of Argentinian wine country. Now the bus ride wan't that bad, we went in first class busses which means that you have leather seats that recline to flat and a foot rest that lifts up. This means that you have a bed that is about a foot and a half wide and about six feet long. They also have free meals and booze (including champagne) and movies to watch.

If you ever find yourself traveling on a bus in Argentina, spends the extra 28 pesos and travel first class, it's really worth it.

All in all it wasn't so bad, plus you leave at about 8:00 at night and then get to your destination the next morning.

Now when we were in Mendoza we went on two tours a Wine/Olive oil tour and a tour in the Andes. These were done on consecutive days. On our last day we went to Parque San Martín:

Mendoza is a pretty neat place although there really didn't seem to be much to do there besides going up into the mountains, checking our the wineries, and checking out the wine in their restaurants.

But if I go back I might just fly...

Another installment of Selsine in Argentina

Well I said that I would get my photos together this weekend and I did not. What a liar I am. Turns out I decided that it would be better laze around, go for walks, and then get sick, then work on going through all of my photos.

So instead I will heap upon you another exciting installment of "Selsine in Argentina" today selsine comes to you live from Puente del Inca, shudder with excitement:

For whatever reason the audio seems to be off in the version that got uploaded to YouTube, it works fine on my computer but what can you do.

Also for those of you wondering this is what it's like traveling with your brother and his partner:

Hah! I'm kidding it was great!
