Thanksgiving

Sorry guys I've really been dropping the ball lately with this here blog, my bad.

Anyhoo, thanksgiving, well as you can see from that earlier post of mine I was cooking thanksgiving dinner for the first time this year.

The menu was as follows:

1) Spicy Squash Soup
2) Mashed Potatoes
3) Roasted Winter Vegetables
4) Tofurkey
5) Apple Pie

I was incharge of the soup, the vegetables, and the tofurkey. Danielle was making the mashed potatoes and Marge was making the apple pie.

Everything turned out just great, except for the tofurkey which I burnt (but it still tasted alright). The evening was a lot of fun, it was cool to host our first thanksgiving and have our friends over to share it.

Here are some photos of the event:

I like the photo with everyone kinda eating- kinda gagging on the food... real nice. Is that port in front of everyone? How debonair. Isn't it supposed to be served after the meal tho?

Actually it's not port, it should have been, but it wasn't. It was acutally just some crappy raspberry liquor that had been purchased for a previous martini party. In the picture we are actually eating the apple pie that marge made, see apple pie and raspberry liquor, mmm mmm!

Hello Adam, good question, while I don't think that they have light and dark tofurkey, the do sell different varieties which can be seen here: tofurkey.com

That being said, I did not purchase this tofurkey, I made it from scratch.

A tofurkey made from scratch basically looks like a round mound of tofu with a BBQ/Orange glaze, stuffed with some vegan stuffing. MMM MMM.

Splash on some miso-gravy and you’re in heaven.

Very interesting Selsine. Now do they make tofacon? or tofausage?

I would see these as a must to be a veg only eater.

Hey Mark, serious question here: would you eat bugs? I mean they are not really meat but not really vegitarian.. Not that I know anyone who eats bugs or anything, just curious

I remember your egg salad (made with tofu) was actually as good (if not better) then normal egg salad.

Hmm would I eat bugs on a moral level? Umm no I guess not, not that I have any desire to anyways, but no I wouldn't.

That reminds me I should make that tofu-salad again, it really did rock. Thanks for bringing it up adam!
