All we can say if pfft to all the doubters - Neil Young listened to Texas radio (and possibly the Big Beat) in Winnepeg; and he lived in Omimi; logs are being taken from the bottom of rivers; marshmallows are made from, you guessed it, marshmallow; my mom can make canoes...uh, no that last one is a complete fabrication although I imagine she could if she tried. An thanks to Fiarchra for the backup on the MM shortage issue.

Apparently it was some kind of April fools joke - I haven't tracked down an origin though.

Hmmm. I did some looking myself about it and found a passing reference to fake reports about picking marshmallows off bushes (like cotton) although this one was about a bumper crop. Perhaps it was just a joke - this time turned around to make it a poor crop. Nevertheless, marshmallows originally come from the plant. I am willing to admit that I may have been hoodwinked on the harvest aspect.
