Footloose and Fancy Free

Well my folks were in town for the last 10 days and they left yesterday after a lovely vacation here in the big Smoke. Another member of my family left yesterday and that was my lovely wife who went to visit her friend Sarah in Brockville, leaving me, for the first time in a long time, home alone for the weekend?

So what's a kid like me going to do for the weekend with no wife and no parents in the big city? Well to start off the weekend I went for a jog! Oh boy! You can checkout the route I took here: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=374976 The route you might notice is a bit all over the map, mostly becuase I was trying to figure out how to get on this belt-line park that I've heard so much about. Of course I was only in the park for about 1/20th of my run but that's not the point, next time, next itme I'm sure I'll be all in that park.

So now were does that leave me for the rest of the weekend? Well I'm guessing it's going to envolve me, the computer, the Xbox 360, some Cameron's Cream Ale, a little bit of 2Pac, and a lot of sleep.

Sounds pretty sweet to me, I hate to admit it but there are some things I've been meaning to do on the computer for a while so tomorrow sounds like the perfect day to di it. Wait, what am I saying, why would I have to admit that?

oh, you go you rebel! Such a menace to society... don't you go getting all crazy on the cream ale and formulating some crazy program after spending 10 hours beating the game you rented.

It is so sad to realize what we have become... I get all excited now when I have a day off and can actually sit and read. HA!

Mark, after recommending it, I wish I knew the beltline trail better. I've only walked part of it. On the runningroom.com website, there's a discussion forum, a "favourite runs?" discussion, and one called "What are your favourite runs in toronto?" I grabbed the description below from that page.

Wish I knew you were free this weekend - Annalise and I saw "little miss sunshine" saturday night and it's awesome.

I like the classic 10 miler - start at the Beltline Bridge over Yonge, through Mount Pleasant Cemetery to Mount Pleasant, south to Moore, east on Moore to the ravine trail, along the ravine to Milkman's Lane, up the killer hill into and through Rosedale, across Ramsden Park (at Yonge, almost to Avenue Road), south on Avenue to Prince Arthur, north on Bedford to Boulton via the Dupont train bridge, through the park on the trail to the St. Clair West subway station (south side of St. Clair, across from Loblaws), north on some little street to Heath, east on Heath to Cedar Vale park, north through Cedar Vale to Ava, north on Strathearn to Eglinton, cross Eglinton and follow the wall to the Beltline, and then east on the Beltline trail.

Jim - Yeah, it's crazy how things change eh? I never understood people that wanted to relax all the time when I was younger, now I understand, they were just old.

Chris - Thanks for the further information, I've actually stumbled upon a pretty nice path which I originally thought was the Belt-line but now I don't think so, either way I get to spend half of my run in a part which is pretty sweet.

Thanks for the invite too Chris, the weekend alone was pretty sweet as mentioned above, a whole lotta maxing and relaxing!

By the way how did your party go?
