Brokeback Mountain
All right, Danielle, Marge, Fiachra, and I saw Brokeback Mountain last night, and I must say I was blown away. I thought that the movie was excellent.
I didn't go into the movie with really high expectations, being wary of movies with as much hype as this one has. I had also heard from a few reviews that it was a long movie and since I wasn't super into seeing a long movie last night it made me even more hesitant.
But as soon as the movie started I was hooked: the scenery, the love story, and the acting were all great. One of the things that I really liked about the movie was that it wasn't just a "gay cowboy movie" it was just a love story, or more to the point just an unrequited love story. It wasn't so much about gay or straight, as it was about the love that these two people (men as it happens to be) feel for each other.
Now to be truthful about the movie Danielle didn't think it was that great, she found it too slow. For me the tempo of the move was just right to explain a stilted love story over a period of time.
So that's my opinion of this movie I'm going to give it the much anticipated 5 Mark's out of 5. So if you get the chance go see this movie you won't be disappointed.
