Weekends and tigers

So this weekend I met, well more like I was introduced to and shook hands with, Cris Cooper and Ryan Phillippe at a benefit for the victims of the Earthquake in South Asia.

The benifit was put on by my friend Cyma. It was a little bit of apps and drinks, and then the screening of God Sleeps In Rwanda, which is directed by Stacy Sherman, who is married to Billy Ray who is in Toronto shooting Breach, that is starring the above dudes.

Matt and Natasha came with Danielle and I to the event, after which we grabbed some dinner and watched War of the Worlds back at their place. (War of the Worlds is like half-blech)

So the weird thing is, why do I post about the fact that I was introduced to people that make movies? I don't know... they are the most famous people that I have ever met and it's a weird thing. It's exciting to meet them, but you feel like a total tool being introduced to them. Why do I even think it's cool? Why is it exciting? Who knows...

The above photo is of a local Christmas decoration that sprung up a few weeks ago.

Additional Note: If you happened to catch E Talk Daily on Monday, you might have noticed the segment they had on the benifit. You might also have noticed that sexy smart dressed couple in the background joking with the waiter. You might also have seen me eat some spanikopita. Mmmm Mmmm tasty...

Well Ryan Phillipe is a little better than The Ultimate Warrior and the Million Dollar Man but who can complain... i was on a plane. I'm sure there were others but you got me beat. Oh, ya, that mexican guy that looked exactly like David Suzuki was pretty wierd. - gotta find that picture

i find it more dissappointing to me famous people. dinner with gordie howe was exciting as a kid, but it wasn't anything life changing. i really liked meeting john candy- he was just so sweet and charming. i remember dale hawerchuk being a dick. i met some wrestlers on a plane, too. demolition of doom or something like that and the killer bees. also super mellow. but famous people are like us, they just don't pay for the stuff they can afford and we can't.

[deadwood]Where was I when all them wrestlers was being met on planes? Seems I haven't met one real wrestler, sept that feller outside the Rogers Cetnre. Claimed he'd wrestled the champ, had a belt to prove it too. Funny that.[/deadwood]

Dillie, your quote: "but famous people are like us, they just don't pay for the stuff they can afford and we can't." it's right out of Coffee and Cigarettes, good movie and true quote.
