Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes

So a few weeks ago I was going to be heading to France for a leisurely vacation in Paris and the south of France, ahh but fate has reared her beautiful head again and intervened.

Now I am involved in a race across the whole of Eastern Europe, traveling at breakneck speeds, in an attempt to not only drink as much cheap beer as possible but to also visit the mighty lands of my forefathers and foremothers. Yes Sir, Poland!

In a nutshell this is how the trip will be:

  1. Arrive in the morning Frankfurt (Guten Morgen)
  2. Rent a car and drive like a fool to Berlin (Ich bin ein Berliner)
  3. Check out Berlin for a day
  4. Leave central Eruope behind and travel to Warsaw. (Dzień dobry)
  5. Check out Warsaw for two days.
  6. Leave the new capital and head to the old capital Krakow. (Nie mówię po polsku.)
  7. Drive through the Sudeten Mountains and down into the Czech republic and int to Prague (Dám si jedno pivo prosím.)
  8. Stay in Prague for 1 or 2 days.
  9. Then drive through Plzen and Munich on the was back to Frankfurt to catch our plane home (Auf wiedersehen)
Ahh yes, Eastern Europe here we come…

Why the drastic change in itinerary? Sounds wicked-ass cool nonetheless.
I was going to do an "literary guide to Paris" post for you listing some essential reading for those travelling to or those envying-those-who-are-travelling to the City of Lights. I must say I don't have too much to offer now...
Try Kafka's Prague at the Bargoon price of $8 at Dave Mirvish Books around the corner from you to get you in the mood.
I am a fan of the "whirl-wind tour of Europe." You are going to have a devastatingly good time.

That book looks cool Rodney, I'm planning on buying it before the trip, I think it will add a little bit'o coolness to my stay in Prague.
